The Perak@PORT Creative Fund has been a significant catalyst for emerging artists in the state of Perak, Malaysia. The fund's focus on supporting local talent in visual arts, music, and performing arts is reminiscent of Coachella's approach to showcasing new and upcoming artists. This year, 115 proposals were approved out of 245 applications, with priority given to those originally from Perak or living in the state for at least five years. The fund's emphasis on supporting local talent is evident in its allocation of RM393,000, which will undoubtedly benefit the artistic community in Perak. Menteri Besar Perak Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad officially handed over the fund, underscoring the state government's commitment to nurturing local artistry.
