The devastating impact on the education sector is evident, with 19,808 schools affected, including 7,503 completely destroyed and 12,305 partially damaged. This has disrupted the education of over 2.3 million students, leaving many concerned about the quality of education.
In response to this crisis, Education Minister Sardar Ali Shah emphasized the need for environmentally resilient school designs and safe learning spaces. He also highlighted the need for additional funding for 14,524 schools, estimated to require Rs180.6 billion. The government has initiated rehabilitation projects for 5,284 schools, with an initial focus on 26% of the affected schools.
The government's efforts are crucial in revitalizing Pakistan's flood-damaged schools and ensuring that students can continue their education without disruption.
