Jakarta Provincial Government Enhances Vocational Training Initiatives with Tourism Ministry and SECO Partnership
Published on 4.5.25
The Jakarta Provincial Government's efforts to enhance vocational training and education in the city are part of a broader initiative to address the challenges faced by its residents, with a focus on improving language proficiency. This goal is reflected in the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed on July 22, 2024, led by Deputy Resources and Institutions Martini Paham.
The partnership between the Tourism Ministry and Switzerland's State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) and Swisscontact since 2018 has also contributed to this effort, aiming to enhance vocational education and training in areas where language skills are lacking. Indonesia is introducing a new loan scheme for students who face financial difficulties but don't qualify for the Smart Indonesia Card for Education (KIP Kuliah) program.
The combination of vocational training centers and community centers will provide individuals with skill-building opportunities before entering the workforce, addressing a critical aspect of Jakarta's challenges.
