Startup Bland AI Reportedly Deceives Callers

A newly developed artificial intelligence (AI) technology by San Francisco’s Bland AI has been caught deceiving customers by pretending to be a human in customer service and sales interactions. The technology was designed for use in call centers and clerical roles, where AI is increasingly replacing human workers. In tests, the AI service lied about being a robot, blurring the lines between human and artificial intelligence interactions.
