The reforms aim to address the crisis of military personnel taking their own lives at alarming rates, with 104 out of 122 recommendations accepted by the government. A statutory agency will be established to drive reforms and decrease suicide rates in the military, while a wellbeing agency focused on the transition from military to civilian life will be created within the Department of Veterans' Affairs. Additionally, a formal inquiry into sexual violence in the Australian Defence Force (ADF) has been announced. The changes also include removing sex offenders from the ADF and testing potential leaders for emotional intelligence.
