Ukraine Strikes Back at Russia with Drone Attacks

U.S. President-elect Donald Trump's vow to end the war in Ukraine has raised uncertainty about continued U.S. military support for Kyiv. In response, President Joe Biden announced that the United States will send an additional $2.5 billion in weapons to Ukraine before Trump takes office. Meanwhile, Ukraine has been striking back at Russia with a barrage of missile and drone attacks throughout the year. On Tuesday, Russian air defenses shot down 68 Ukrainian drones over several regions and sank eight uncrewed boats in the Black Sea. In response, Ukraine's Military Intelligence Directorate claimed that one of its naval drones shot down a Russian helicopter with a missile near Cape Tarkhankut on the Crimean peninsula.
