Tsinghua and Peking Grads Dominate Suzhou School Hires

Suzhou Middle School in Jiangsu province, China has sparked controversy with its hiring policy of selecting nearly all of its new teachers from the country's two most prestigious universities, Tsinghua University and Peking University. The school announced that it had hired 13 teachers, 10 of whom held postgraduate degrees, including eight doctorates, from these elite institutions. Critics argue that this reflects a growing trend in Chinese society where employers prioritize the name of the university attended over an individual's actual skills and abilities.
