The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has partnered with the Government of Pakistan to upgrade and modernise the power distribution system in three major cities. The project will be implemented through Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO), Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO), and Sukkur Electric Power Company (SEPCO). Secretary Dr Kazim Niaz emphasized the importance of timely completion of the project, which aims to reduce energy losses during distribution by upgrading infrastructure and implementing advanced metering systems. The ADB has been praised for its role as a reliable development partner in Pakistan's power sector, with Deputy Country Director Asad Aleem expressing gratitude for the government's support and commitment to aligning the project with national development priorities.
