Korea Shipbuilding Introduces AI Translation Services for Foreign Workers

HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering has introduced an AI-powered translation service, called AI Agent, at its dockyards to improve communication with over 8,700 foreign workers. The service uses Google’s large language model and can translate text into four languages: Vietnamese, Uzbek, Nepali, and Thai. AI Agent is designed to overcome the limitations of publicly available translation services by accurately translating regional dialects and shipbuilding terminology. The service will be implemented at all KSOE subsidiaries by the end of the year and will also aid communication in areas such as safety, education, and daily life. The goal is to ensure smooth communication and guarantee the safety of foreign workers.
