Investments in Cloud Computing Infrastructure in France

Microsoft is investing heavily in artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud computing infrastructure in France, with a new data center to be created in eastern France and existing sites expanded. Amazon Web Services (AWS), a subsidiary of e-commerce giant Amazon, will invest over €1.2 billion in France to develop its cloud infrastructure, mainly generative AI, and logistical infrastructure for parcel delivery services. The growing demand for remote computer and AI services is driving investment in these areas, with AWS reporting $25 billion in revenue worldwide in the first quarter of the year, and other companies like Pfizer and AstraZeneca also committing to invest in France’s health sector.
