A service using artificial intelligence (AI) has gained popularity among parents in China, claiming to predict what their unborn baby’s face will look like from a four-dimensional ultrasound image. The AI-powered service, advertised on e-commerce platforms, has attracted tens of thousands of customers and gone viral. The service costs between 10 yuan (US$1.4) and 30 yuan on Taobao, China’s largest e-commerce platform.
